First launched in 1998, Sebago Brewing Company was one of Maine’s first craft beer and brewpub brands. Years later they found themselves in a different marketplace. A new craft brewing and restaurant scene had emerged and was gaining national recognition. Sebago approached Toderico to help re-establish the company’s place as a leader in Maine craft beer.

Using internal, competitive, and consumer research, Toderico first helped to identify a unique brand position: Sebago is Maine’s Lake Lifestyle Brand—celebrating good times and all things the Maine outdoors has to offer. After establishing the brand idea and tone, we worked closely with Sebago to ensure that the branding was on target and authentic. Toderico then redesigned a complete set of logos and overhauled all consumer packaging, bottles, and cans. The new tone of voice is carried through every can of Sebago beer and summed up in the new tagline: “Brewed for Times Like These.”

THE RESULTS

A year after rebranding, sales had exceeded the capacity of the current bottling line.

First two years after completion of the can packaging redesign, the brand redesign saw a 65% increase in wholesale sales.

Sebago's beer sales have outgrown their current brewing capacity and they are currently building a $5 million headquarters and destination brewery to meet demand.
